He's beginning to think he might need to keep Cloud around, what with the fact the kid has him laughing again at that look. So pouty. And that spike in his voice? Magnificent. If this were another situation, and he had more liquor in his system, he probably would have leaned over and flirted just to see how fast Cloud would go red; because as much as people saw him only as calm and collected type, his temperament also often led to obnoxiousness.
As the situation was what it was, he refrains from that little game of awkwardness.
